# Product License

A product license is needed to use AppControl. Without a valid product license most scheduled events will fail to execute, and no app information will be collected or processed. To view, download or activate your product license you need to go to the System Status page and click on 'manage license' from the product license tile.

Follow these steps to install and activate your license:

1. **License ID.** Enter the license ID given to you by Blue Storm support and click on 'download license'. If this process completes successfully a green check mark will appear next to your license to indicate that your license is valid.
2. **Activate license.** Enter the license activation code given to you by Blue Storm support and click on 'activate license'. If this process completes successfully a green check mark will appear next to your activation code to indicate that your license is activated.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.bluestorm.io/administration/system/product-license.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
